Hello! My 9 years old display died, so now I need a new one. I got Acer Nitro VG252QSbmiipx (165hz, IPS, LED, 1ms, 400 cd/m2), but can't get used to it, my eyes feel discomfort (previous display was 60hz, AH-IPS, 7ms, 250cd/m2). Not sure if it's backlight bleed or too intensive brightness causes this effect, but white color is too eye burning and if I reduce the brightness, then other colors become not natural. So I decided to exchange it and now need an advice which one to get instead. I need something universal for work with texts (so the quality of fonts is important), watching movies and playing games. I also spend about 9-12 hours daily in front of the screen.

So my current options are:

1. ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q1A (https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Gaming-1080P-Monitor-VG249Q1A/dp/B08LCN9PGW), (165hz, IPS, LED, 1ms, 250 cd/m2)

2. AOC 24g2spu/bk (https://www.amazon.com/AOC-Gaming-24G2SPU-Speakers-freesync/dp/B09T73DNXY) (165hz, IPS, LED, 1ms, 250cd/m2)

3. Acer B247Ybmiprx (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-B247Ybmiprx-23-8inch-60cm-16/dp/B079Y2TW82) (75hz, IPS, LED, 250cd/m2)

4. GIGABYTE G24F 2 (https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-G24F-Monitor-Response-DisplayPort/dp/B0B5VY6ZFC) (165hz/180hzOC, IPS, LED, 300cd/m2)

5. Philips 241E2FD/00 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-Full-monitor-241E2FD-00/dp/B09FBSR76F) (75hz, IPS, LED, 300cd/m2)

Please, have in mind, that I can't buy on Amazon, just gave the links as an example, though all of these displays have approximately the same price in my city. I have like 2-3 days to make a choice. Thanks for your attention and help!

Just to keep you abreast of the situation if you didn't pick up on it, different people will react to different forms of stimulus, meaning what you perceive as a burning sensation in your eyes due to the whites might not be the same for a lot of other people.

To also add, if your ambient room lighting is bad, you can and will experience issues with the panels and your eyes. Besides brightness, did you try with changing contrast on the panel?

I personally work off of two 23" 60Hz panels, I don't see you buying into a 165Hz panel

Yes, I did try to change contrast and also gamma of the panel, still can't get a picture which would be good for me. 160hz (okay, 120hz+) is better for some games, but if high refresh rate is the reason of why my eyes feel bad, then ofc I'll choose something with 75hz instead (though I tried to use this Acer I got with 85hz refresh rate, didn't feel any difference).

I doubt that a high refresh rate is the problem and a bad thing.
Waay back when CRT was the norm,
a refresh rate of 60hz bothered you and it took 85hz to look good.

If you can see your candidate devices in person, do so.
Otherwise, look at the reviews on rtings.com.
They provide more detailed measurements and opinions that might be useful to you.
