good day everyone.
first i gotta say im a computer noob, i love games and technology but i have almost no idea about computer parts and builds.
so i've been doing some research because i want a gaming pc that would be a good investment at a moderate price, this build was made with tom's hardware and some friends advice and i dont know what am i missing or if it will work (dont even know what case to get).

this build is for gaming and sometimes studying 😀

$1,500 max for computer - OS, monitor, peripherals, SSD, and case? Here's what I'd do:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($35.98 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($139.99 @ Microcenter)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($52.99 @ NCIX US)
Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 690 4GB Video Card ($1007.86 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: PC Power & Cooling 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($89.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1596.79
(Prices include shipping and discounts when available.)

That's right... right there, in the GPU section... a 690! 😀 If you want to cut down on price, a couple of SLI-ed 670s would be okay. A 690 is GREAT, though. Tear through any game for the next few years at max settings.

Now for the case, I'd just get a Corsair 400R or 500R... the full-size cases are HUGE. If you REALLY want a full-size case, then feel free to get the HAF X (my personal preference). However, the NZXT Phantom has great aesthetics. The corsair cases are VERY easy to build in and are very nice quality.

lol yeah i would love a 690 but it seems to be out of stock everywhere 🙁

thanks for the really quick reply!
gonna read a bit about the new items and ill be back to you in a bit

thanks for the quick reply!!
about the Gcard i dont know the dif between the Asus GeForce GTX 670 2GB Video Card and the EVGA GTS670FTW

already got hard drives, monitor, OS, and optical drive 😀
sry for not saying this on the original post

showed the build to my friend and he says the ud5h board would be better because we live in a really hot and humid city, what do you think?
the Gcard seems to be out of stock right now :??:

i got that SSD already.
friend says a full tower is better than mid (i really dont care about the look i just want everything to fit nicely, as quiet as it can get with awesome air flow) what do you think? (i removed the stuff i dont need and ill add a 1T hard drive later)

HAF X is the full-size I'd go with. But keep in mind it's simply HUGE!!! All of that space isn't all that necessary. Airflow in a mid-tower will still be fine, and possibly a little better because the fans have more "control" over the air inside. As in the fans are closer to everything, so there may be slightly more airflow.

OMG i didnt know there was a HAF XM, looks great!
many many thanks sir, you helped me a LOT!!
