Discussion Need advice for temporary PC

Hi,

So last year i bought a new pc and it was working fine from August until last January. I plan to send the CPU and MOBO warranty but it will surely take time before it will come back (if ever).

Now I plan to build around my RTX 4070 for me to use in the meantime (also its for incase they wont replace/repair the item i sent for warranty)
What should mix and match that will make use of my RTX 4070?

I was thinking of buying a cheap b650 and r5 7600 then sell it if the warranty item comeback, but it feels like its hard to sell am5 cpu/mobo in my country.
Because I went into our capital and there's literally no am5 testbench in any repair shop, so im guessing 2nd hand am5 will be hard to sell.

As for am4 option, will r5 5600x be decent and worth to pair with rtx 4070 rather than my r5 3600?
And should if ill go r5 5600x should i buy a newer mobo? (b550 or just update my b350 bios)

Also any other/better suggestion?
For gaming/entertainment only, no work of any sort.

Case: Nzxt s340 Elite
CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212
Monitors
Main: 27' 1440p 180hz
Side: 24' 1080p 144hz
Spare: 24' 1080p 144hz (Very old but working fine, resell price is shit so i just keep it as spare)

So you have a working AM4 board and CPU? Why buy anything at all if it is only temporary?

It won't run slower with a faster GPU in it, just probably will have lower minimum frame rates in some titles. Really depends on your game settings and the game.

yes the old am4 is working fine without any issue (all parts), but its just that im getting the same fps with 5700xt and rtx 4070 (when paired with r5 3600) and not hitting 180fps.
its like i didnt upgrade 😥

also its temporary but might be permanent if the warranty wont go through.

Yes, maximum FPS is limited by the CPU. You can take this opportunity to increase your graphics settings and maintain the same FPS at better quality.
