Build looks very good. Imho you should change your Thermal Compound to ARCTIC COOLING MX-2 that Why_Me suggested. The main reason is that Arctic Silver5 takes around 200 hours to cure before temps stabalize. NewEgg has the ARCTIC COOLING MX-2 for $7.98, but you can get it for $4.49 at SuperBiz.

I see some Items tha are not listed in your Build. Operating System, DVD Burner and HDD. You know that you will have to use a 64-bit OS for the 6gb of ram to show up and to be used. Plus NewEgg has a 72 hr deal on the WD 640gb Black edition HDD that is tough to pass up. Will add these items below in case you forgot to list them in your build.

Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache $74.99 ($64.98 with Promo Code EMCLXLP48)Free Shipping*

Sony Optiarc DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model AD-7241S-0B LightScribe Support $33.99

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders w/ Tech Guarantee (Includes free Windows 7 upgrade coupon) $109.99 Free Shipping*

Also get your Graphic card and CPU in the Combo Deal and save another $25.00.

Hope this helped out a bit more. :)

Thanks abunch man, I updated it yet again and im loving this build more and more. I think im done other then the OS

You do know you can not use a Promo Code with NewEgg Combo Deals'. So the WD 640gb HDD will revert back to the 74.99 price.

You will save $14.00 total by using these Promo Codes on the WD 640gb HDD (using Promo Code & saving $10.00) and OCZ Ram ($4.00 using the Promo Code EMCLXLP62) .
NewEgg Promo Code Email

OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) $124.99 (Your Price: $120.99 with Promo Code EMCLXLP62)Free Shipping*

Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache $74.99 ($64.98 with Promo Code EMCLXLP48)Free Shipping*

Also you should of stayed with the Corsair 750tx PSU at $89.99 after MIR, it is better then the PC Power & Cooling PSU at $104.99 since both have Free shippimg.

Building such system wouldn’t be complete without a 10’000 rpm Hard disk, with 16MB cache. It would give you a big boost. Get one around 100GB to 150GB ( i.e western digital velociraptor WD1500HLFS) , which is more than enough to install Operating System and commonly used applications. And get a second 7200 rpm Hard drive for other data’s (or use existing one HD).

Motherboard first choice should be Asus (very reliable), Second Gigabyte. ASrock famous for making cheap boards. Make sure is got the latest chipset.

Don’t spend too much money on expensive Memory, you would hardly see any difference. 6GB is more than enough. Read toms hardware reviews esp ;Do you need more than 4GB Of Memory‘.

Try to use quite CPU and case Fans.

Add Bluetooth to your system.

velociraptors are old news they pushing 3 yrs already any modern 7200rpm drive will match it even surpass it in some instances the new samsung f3 will send a velociraptor packing i have one and its a lil faster then my old wd 500 but much quieter if you want speed nothing beats an ssd asus make asrock and all i7 chips use triple channel ram for optimum performance like 3gig 6 gigs 12 gig 24 gig ect

Enjoy,

If the OS is only thing that is keeping you from placing order. Then you have 1 of 2 options', get Visat Prem. 64-bit OS w/Win7 Upgrade Coupon or Order parts now and get Retail version of Win7 64-bit when it comes out in October 22nd. Because a number of the prices will go up if you wait past this coming Sunday.

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders w/ Tech Guarantee (Includes free Windows 7 upgrade coupon) $109.99 Free Shipping*

Pre-Order Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Full - Retail $199.99 Free Shipping*

Thought you were going with this motherboard below, it is the Dark (suprise) Horse of the x58 mobo's.

Alright, Yoosty. You werent really that clear on what you stated. What i interpreted was that i should buy vista now and save $100.

Tonight im going to buy my case and power supply because the power supply im buying is on a deal until tomorrow and i want to buy the case now.

I dont have all the money for evertything at the moment so im going to buy my graphix card and other stuff later due to the price drops that happen.

I was just giving you a friendly nudge on buying the items for your Build that were on sale, before they raised the prices. Please keep us inform on how your Build is going. :)

You will have to go 64bit if you want to use all of that RAM - 32bit windows only supports up to 4GB of RAM (and what shows up is 4GB minus total video card RAM because of something between video card an RAM). I have 4GB RAM and windows (32bit) shows up 3581MB because thats 4096MB minus a 512MB graphics card.

It would pay to have a look into benifits and downsides of running 64bit windows:
http://www.w7forums.com/windows-7-64-bit-vs-32-bit-t484.html

And if you can, absolutely go for a Windows 7 upgrade OS package - I've been running win7 for a while now and it is ultimately awesome. That is some praise considering I hate Vista.

Nothing at all. I just wanted to see what should be upgraded out of what im getting. i have an extra $100 to shell out. And i was wondering if my parts are good. i want to be %100 sure on what im buying

sweet, i wasnt too sure about my motherboard but i geuss its alrite. Its gigabyte so im all set.

And i know that samsung hard drive is really good but wasnt too sure about the western digital.

I might as well just buy two Samsung f3s

Western Digital Drives are very reliable. Haven't used Samsung but I've heard good things. From experiance, don't use segate, I had two of 8 drives fail in a 2 years.

I think im gunna get 2 samsung f3s. they look good.

oh and is my mother board alright?

other then my mother board i feel really confident about my build and am ready to order

If you have concerns then just get the board from Microcenter. You can take it back if you find that it has issues. I THINK they have a 30 day exchange period. I was going to get mine from there as well but then that ASRock board was in stock on newegg for a couple days and I got that instead.
