So as the title says, I'm at a bit of a crossroads. I've been looking at budget cpu's as I don't have much of a budget to spare (about £80 for a cpu) and I'm unsure if my choice is worth it or not. I plan on streaming on Twitch.tv soon and want to buy a AMD A8 7650k apu but I don't know if it's good for streaming or not. I will be streaming live gameplay. Can anyone help? And maybe suggest a better cpu? Thanks

If you have everything but the CPU, please tell us the motherboard. CPUs and Motherboards have sockets and they need to match up or you're gonna have a problem.

What's the motherboard?

AMD is good for streaming, but that's mostly their newer platform, their old stuff has cruddy IPC and Intel CPUs have an IPC advantage while usually having the same amount of threads at the price point. For instance, the A8 you're looking for vs. a Pentium G4560.
Do you already have a motherboard and RAM?

I would highly suggest looking at the used market. A Phenom II X6 1090T is $50 where I live, but of course it needs a decently beefy motherboard (no problem as AM3 is outdated and most consider it low end, but it will do fine for those who need more multi core performance at a sub $100 price point) and a good cooler. But this all rides on whether 80 is for the CPU or the whole setup, and what you already have.

I would not reccomend an APU for streaming, they're pretty weak and offer no advantage over the Athlon X4's on the same socket.

I have everything except the CPU. The budget for the CPU is £80. I would have thought that AMD would be better for streaming because of the cores+threads. Should I aim for intel then? Thanks
