OK I am finally broke down and am building my own computer. I am asking you guys to help me configure the best computer I can for gaming. JUst let me know what you think about what I have so far and if it needs any inproving please let me know. http://secure.newegg.com/app/WishList.asp?position=HISTORY&submit=VIEW&ID=569109

I currently have
800mhz p3
512 sdram
64meg gforce

So as you can see this is a big step for me :)

I have been trying to do as much researchas I can On building the best gaming pc for around 1500$ as I can.

A few questions I have.

Is the ram I picked good is ir worth it to spend the extra 40$ for the LL?

IS it a big inprovement to use 2 10k rpm harddrives for gaming?

Is it worth it to get the 3.0 80o over the 2.8 800?

The asus mobo I have picked out will it run the 2 10k rpm harddrives at 10k rpm in raid 0 and still have room to hook my cd burner up? or do I need to buy another card?

Sound I get round ied cables for the hard drives and the cd burner to save room and how many will I need 3?

Again thanks in advance and I cannot wait to read your imput!!

Thg 2.8C is dropping to current 2.6C price in less than 2 weeks. So you could be saving a LOT of money.

Remember you can _easily_ OC a 2.4c to ~3ghz using stock cooling. I am no expert and I have been running my 2.4c at 2.9ghz for about half a year now. No problems. I could push it to 3.12ghz, but I don't want to push my luck.

Well as far as overclocking goes I have never done it before. However I am pretty good with computer im sure I would have no problems with it. What exactly would I need for overclocking, as for my current set up is it good for overclocking or do I need differnt ram or motherboard? Also if I over clocked my computer would I OC my processor and ram only and would I be able to leave it set like that and leave my computer on overnight. I usually do not turn it off unless it needs a reboot if I overclock it is that going to be a problem?

If anyone has any other comments about the setup I have please let me know I am planning on getting a new computer this weekend or early next week..

Thanks again in advance Bluetick..
