[SOLVED] Need an 8th gen CPU to update BIOS to 9th gen?

Buying a Gigabyte B360M DS3H for an i3 9100F. Do I need an 8th gen to update the mobo? or does it already ship with the F6 BIOS version??

I would just contact the seller and ask for an update before it is getting shipped, stating you will use 9th gen CPU.

i3 9100F with Gigabyte B360M DS3H will require F14 bios. I think it is better to get B365 to quarantee it will work

Yes for most of 9th gen CPU. Newest 9th gen CPU that got release recently may need bios update. To be sure, go to motherboard website and verify if that CPU require bios update or not.

With B365 board - most likely yes.
With B360 board - probably not.

The requisite F14 bios was released 3/2019.
All products shipped since then will have that or a more current bios.
The F6 bios which allows 9000 series to boot was released 07/2018

I do not think I would worry.
At the very least, you should be able to boot and flash the bios to later versions which address 9000 series support.
