Need CPU suggestion for modeling/rendering/gaming

Hey,
I am looking for a nice long term (as posible) pc build to upgrade my older guy since it's slow (age), Have some motherboard issues and i just start to think about new "Hobby" soo.

Right now i have:
CPU: i7 3770
MOTHERBOARD: Simpe p8h77vle (sorry if i wrong)
RAM: 2 x DDR 3 8 gb
GPU: 1080 TI (HAHA, CPU BATTLENECK)
PSU: 650 SEASONIC GOLD

NEEDS: GAMING and VR gaming, Modeling BLENDER, ZBRUSH and staff in UNREAL ENGINE.

I need sugestion mostly about CPU and good MOTHERBOARD for it.

now i need it as fast and as compatible and as much best option for my needs (gaming, unreal game "learning" mostly).

I like the AMD new CPUS and also i figure the threadripper 1900X and 1920X that probably be great but also the great 8700K that give nice performance as well.

I can't descide witch better for me as i need it as error free as posible

I would get a Ryzen 2700x if buying now. If you can wait till October, 9900k Intel will most likely be better.

Thank for the answer, no problem with october i'll wait for more answers but a quick look is that the new CPU will be on the older chipset if i get it right.

Z370 is supposed to support the new CPUs but they are scheduled to release a z390 chipset as well.
