Question Need For Speed Underground 2 Blurry Title Screen And Text

Whenever I try to play underground 2, it boots up fine, it runs fine, but the problem is, text and some backgrounds are incredibly blurred and low res, and makes the game pretty much unplayable as I have no idea what in the world is going on in terms of menus, I've tried updating drivers, I've tried widescreen fixes, I've tried different downloads, nothing helps, I've looked for people with the same problem but all I've found is people from 2004 or 2005 with hilariously old hardware and the replies consist of people saying their hardware is underpowered and the classic "update your drivers" which I have tried. here's some screenshots to give you a better idea of what's going on, I'd really appreciate some help.

Some textures/text are not blurred and others are, for the most part everything is unreadable, every bit of text in the menus is blurred, some logos like the underground logo aren't blurred, or the bottom text of the first picture, but really it's just unplayable in this state and I have no idea how to fix it, weird thing is, this problem also carries into Don't Starve Together, why these two games have the exact same issue is beyond me so that's why I'm asking here.
