Need Good value CPU but best possible Speed

Well, this kind of "side-battle" is not unusual in some threads. But you should be happy because this one was only 4 posts long (I think it's the minimum length for a side-battle). These stuff often grow insanely and kill the whole thread.

Xeen had a very good point. It's real easy to just "parrot" things you've heard, but it can also be very misleading. Memory that may run fine in Crashman's Soyo Black Dragon good go bonkers on an A64 rig. Prescotts run real hot, right? Well, the new ones run a good 10C cooler than the first ones that could fry hamburgers. Etc, etc. It was a good discussion and they both made their points. If it "scares you", don't go "trick or treating!" :lol:
And please, if you ever hear me comment about the abilities of an FX-55, kick me in the groin because I've never even seen one.

At least the GF4MX never pretended to be more thant what it was! FX5200 is so slow in DX9.0 that it should not carry the DX9.0 compatible sticker!
