Need help buying a LGA 2011 motherboard

I've been looking at ASUS and Gigabyte. I think I just really want something with a good amount of expansion slots. I have a $500 budget, but I don't want to buy something with a lot of features I don't need.

Computer will be used primarily for programming and 3d modelliing

Asus is probably the best choice, specifically the sabertooth x79. I would get that with an 3930K. No need going with an extreme edition CPU.

Not that much actually. The rampage one has just more of them.

It's purely workstation oriented, meaning it has a truck load of pcie expandability, lots of sata ports...
The only problem is that it's pretty big, a special form factor called CEB so I think it's going to be kind of hard to find a case that supports it. lol
