Hi there,

My parents last motherboard has burnt and I need to get them another one. But I cant find one that would be good. The CPU they have is Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E7400, GeForce GTX 670, 500W PSU, ram 4 GB, 125GB ssd. They also have some simple 5.1 speakers so that would be needed on the motherboard.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

Solution
A core i3-4160 would be fine for their use with an inexpensive H97 motherboard and 8GB memory. The quality of the PSU is important and you did not list brand/model. If the PSU is more than 5-7 years old it should be replaced unless it is top of the line. If the original pc was store bought you will most likely need a new case but there's plenty of inexpensive options for that. New motherboard means you'll need clean OS install so you'll need a windows disc if you don't have one.

Here's a list to check out-

I have never actually looked at the number because I had to unscrew it. I just had a look there and its seems that the model number is FSP700- BPN80-85. Its nothing like both you have mentioned, in your opintion is it any good and would it be ok for over clocking.

Thanks once again for such a fast reply, I have made a post in other forum and got no reply.
