That is not consistent with most reviews I've seen that compare the two cards. The power usage at least. The GT 240 is a bit faster.

They entirely made up that 400w number. Our advice is much more accurate.

Not really. They are all pretty much the same card apart from the cooler and warranty and the cooler doesn't really matter much on such a low power card. I would choose mostly based on price.

Actually, according to the AMD website, it says the 5570 and 5550 reccomends at least 400 watts of system power. See here:

EDIT: I just discovered a worry point:
My OS is a 32 bit, and the Card is 64. Will it still work if my Processor is 64 bit too? The processor is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+

Yes, I'm aware they say that. If fact that is what I specifically was saying is an entirely made up number. It has no basis in reality.

Shrug. Mmkayy, im just going off the websites.
One last question, i hope: Gt240 or 5450? I can afford a Psu upgrade for the 5450 since i ca get it for 15$, but would the 240 be better?

And why do I get the feeling im taking over the thread, kinda? Oh wellll. 😛

If i get the 240, im stuck with the stock 300 watt PSU my computer already has, which should be fine according to the Nvidia Website. So teh 240 then?

I was reading reviews on my PC and i just found out my computer has no case fan!(no wonder its so quiet)
Will there be a cooling problem when i play games? with the video card i have now it seems i have not overheated the computer.

Luckily i still had my old pc lying around, I took its fan and installed it on my new pc and it works, it fit!

But now that I have a case fan, it means my computer wastes more power, so can I still run the video card you guys recomended (hd5570) with my 250w psu?
pls help 🙁

Im just starting to learn how to fix harware, does someone know if its safe to just install a case fan from another computer?

Currently, unless you change your power supply, you are a bit limited on what you can choose. I run a Radeon HD 5450 in my Compaq Presario CQ5320F (low profile: you will probably need that decreased height as the power supply is a bit intrusive) Mine is a ASUS EAH5450 SILENT/DI/512MD2(LP), but you certainly can run DDR3, GDDR3, and GDDR5 in it without running out of power. Same thing with 1GB vs. 512MB. You can also probably use a Radeon HD 6450, but I cannot promise that it will work. You can also run a HD4350, but it is a bit lacking in power.
If you want to upgrade you power supply, I recommend a Corsair CX500 or Corsair CX600 (500W & 600W, respectively.) Not all power supplies fit into our case, but the guys at HP assure me that these fit in.
HOWEVER, you WILL need a low profile card, as the size of the Corsairs are a bit larger.
Hope this helps.
