Hi Everyone. For the first time i'm building a pc from scratch for Dynamics and rendering (softwares- 3ds max, maya, houdini ).actually i want to know what are the key thing to know before build a pc for rendering and dynamics (not for gaming), like should i go for cpu with more cores , clock speed, single core performance or multi core performance or cpu with more cache.

Like if i have 2 processors - (7700k vs 6800k)

(7700k)1st one with 4 cores and 8 threads, base clock 4.2 and turbo clock 4.5 and cache memory 8mb, single core performance is better then 6800k.

(6800k)and 2nd one with 8 cores and 16 threads , base clock 3.4 and turbo clock 3.8 and cache memory 15mb.

or should i buy xeon ??

Go for Ryzen, its has tremendous value for the amount of power it gives in terms of multicore performance, and it happens to excel in rendering tasks such as 3d/videos etc.
No, get the 6800k. It might be expensive but more cores=faster at rendering. Also the 15mb cache help a lot. But if you have like 5k$ get an E5-2699. 22 Cores, 55mb cache, Hyper-Threading and a hefty 4119$ pricetag at Intel Ark website. Tho you need a graphics card as well. Rendering with integrated isn't that good. If you have like 5k$ for a gpu get a Quadro M6000. 24gb of graphics and it's the best rendering GPU out there. Also you need a X99 MoBo since the Xeon is a 2011-v3 (X99 Chipset). But if you don't have that much money, a Titan X (maybe) and the 6800k with a X99 MoBo aswell (2011-v3) work just fine for what you want.
