So I have been building a pc for a bit now and I'm not sure what psu I should get. I have a asus m5a97 r2.0 motherboard, a msi r9 270 2g GPU and a amd fx 8350 CPU. I also am thinking of getting a second 270 card down the road, and preferably under 100$ but can go over if I have to.

I would rather get a 280x/290 than a second 270.

If you are looking for a great PSU that is under 100 then I recommend the

XFX PRO750 PSU, supports 2-way SLI/CFX.

I would not suggest you to crossfire your r9 270 since it would result in very small performance increase. Upgrading for a r9 280x or 285 would give you significantly better performance boost.

Now that being said, if you reaaaally want room for Xfire, i would not get a power supply under 650watts.
Check this list a chose something in tier 1 or 2 : http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html
Antec, Seasonic and XFX have very reliable psu for their prices and would recommend you chose one of these brands.
