Need help choosing between monitors

I have it narrowed down between these two, although I'll take other suggestions (preferably similar and from Asus). I initially planned on buying the VG248QE for gaming but found that the VX228H was similar and about $100 less.

Is there that much of a difference aside from the price?
Only things I'm seeing so far are the following (VG vs VX)

  ■ Brightness: 350 cd/m² vs 250 cd/m²
  ■ Contrast ratio: 80,000,000:1 vs 80,000,000:1 (ASCR)
  ■ Refresh rate: 144Hz vs 60Hz
  ■ Display ports
