I am building a gaming pc with a 1200 euro budget.
My parents work for intel so i am able to get a 8700k with a z370 mobo for 300 dollars, or a 8400 for 90 dollars or a 8350k with a motherboard for 150. I would like to get a gtx 1070 but i need to buy a keyboard and mouse aswell. Which cpu would you reccomend i go with. Also i have a 60hz 1080p monitor which i will replace soon. I woukd like to make this build futureproof. Which cpu should i buy? And if the 8400 what motherboard?

I would suggest looking at reviews for certain motherboards. All z370's have the ability to overclock but the more expensive ones will likely overclock further.
in my opinion, the brands that I think are good for overclocking motherboards in my experience are Gigabyte, Asus and Asrock
Depends on what your workload is really.

If you are only gaming I would recommend an i5 8600k as it is quite a new CPU and gaming usually never needs lots of threads. the reason for this exact CPU is it is overclockable which if you decide its performance is not adequate you can overclock it (however this does mean you will have to factor cooling into your budget too.)

If you are a multitasker eg video editing, photo editor, and your workload would take advantage of the extra threads I would suggest the i7 8700k as it is one of the best consumer processors around at the moment and if it is true you can get it for the price then it would be worth it.

About the motherboard situation, an 8400 can use a z370 as well and since it isn't overclockable just basically buy whatever looks the nicest
