I am trying to build my first pc for gaming purposes with a budget of around $1000, (pc only) but I’m pretty clueless as to what are some good parts for it. All I have picked right now are the cpu and fan, though I have a few questions/thoughts.
CPU: Intel-core i5-8600K is that maybe overkill for a gaming pc? Do you think the i5 cpu is better than the i7 when it comes to gaming? That’s what a friend told me.
CPU Fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
mobo: I am looking for a decent one that will not be outdated right away. I know there are different sizes so will a ATX have more space between parts and thus better ventilation? (depending on this I will choose the mobo and case size)
GPU:I’m looking for one that will play recent games with high quality graphics and doesn’t bottleneck with the CPU
Ram:8 or 16 Gb? What else do I need to know/want???
Storage: I hear SSD is the way to go, is that true? I might go with a 250 and add more later if needed.
PSU:I suppose It will depend on power consumption.
This is the list of what I have at the moment https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wQFdyf
I apologize for making such a long post but I will appreciate any advice and recommendations you can give me.
