hi guys

here is whats going on i got my computer around christmas i dont have all the specs for you im afraid
but i can tell you that it is a ASRock motherboard and the graphics card is RADEON HD 4350, 2gb ram single stick and i am running on windows xp. i am connecting to my screen(also tv screen) via hdmi cable.

changes i have made since i bought the tower;

installed a RADEON HD 4350 instead of integrated.
installed a Tp-link wireless adapter

connected to it i have a wireless port for my mouse and keyboard to connect to and a gaming headset both through usb.

So here is the problem i can be playing a game like (Starcraft 2 or world of warcraft-cataclysm) and the computer freezes no more movement on the screen no more sound and no more power going to anything connected via USB or i could be doing anything else like browsing the internet to not even logged on.

Additional info is that the OC Tuner says that the computer was over locking its self to about 3050 Mhz i turned the CPU multiplier and the CPU frequency down to make it not over clock at 2230 Mhz. The PCIE wasn't over clocked and it is at 99.95 hope that helped if i shouldn't of touched the over clocking please say and i turn it back up.

now i think this could either be a graphical problem or a power problem i say this because my other computers power supply blow up so i has to get a new one but the wattage was to low i think because again o signal to screen and no power to usb devices. But i have no clue what or how to fix this problem so every help you are willing to give is helpful thanks.

p.s if you need anymore technical information just ask and tell me how to find out.
thank you

Elliott

Difficult issue to diagnose. I have seen similar problems when memory is not seated completely, IE the system will simply hang. It doesn't sound like a graphics problem to me... simply because your system typically won't stop responding entirely, you'll still get keyboard/mouse response... or the computer will crash and recover.

Also if it were a heat issue I feel like the system would simply shut off. I would download memtest86+ and give it a run on your stick of memory, give it two passes. should only take about 30 minutes.

Also make sure your cables are all seated properly.

I would say you have an abundance of issues mainly a really low end gpu and 2GB of ram.
A 4350 is only a slight improvement over onboard graphics and defintitely not considered a gaming card.
Overclocking your cpu is not going to help your gaming performance not with that gpu anyways.
Full system specs will get you further along in this thread.

Thanks for the help. I updated my driver manualy and the issue has seemed to resolve itself . The reason i didnt do this initial is becasue the addon i have to make sure all my divers are uptodate said it was uptosate well clearly not :) I did this after getting a very scary blue screen that said my entire system has crashed :S
