First time builder here. I am trying to connect my Graphics Card to my motherboard. I have a Geforce GTX 1070 Ti and am using the cables that were in the box. When trying to connect the cable to the actual graphics card, the opposite side of the 24 pin cable has a 10 pin plug in when the graphics card only needs a 8 pin plug in. Am I using the wrong cable or do I need to plug in some attachment or something? I can provide pictures too.

Here is both sides of the 24 pin cable that won't plug into my Graphics Card along with the plugin on the graphics card

I was browsing another persons thread with a similar issues and saw people suggesting to plug in a VGA cable but I am confused about that as well.

The motherboard 24 pin goes on the right next to your ram. The vga 6+2 from the psu is what you want for the graphics card, can sometimes also be called pci-e.

The graphics card doesnt get cabled to the motherboard, its just pushed in the pci-e x16 slot.
