I'm making a new build I plan to buy in a couple weeks (I've spent months on this but I would like to have as many "second opinions" as possible before I blow $2000 on a computer). My current plan is this:
Ryzen 1700 (w/stock cooler)
ASRock Taichi X370
16GB (2x8GB) Ripjaws V 3200 mHz
MSI GTX 1070ti Titanium
EVGA 550 B3 550W Fully Modular PSU
BenQ ZOWIE XL2730 1440p 144Hz 27" monitor
and it's all going in an NZXT S340 Elite.

Any and all suggestions welcome, budget is $2200, trying to do a black/white theme.

Kinda super important side note:
I was hoping I could re-use my Windows 10 OS and current SSD for my new build? I got it as a free upgrade from W7. Really hoping I can avoid buying a brand new OS...

Solution

then it should work
Nice build. It’ll look good in an s340 elite, and it’s a pretty high end build so you shouldn’t have any problems running anything in 1080p or possibly 1440p. As for your SSD, of course you can use it in your new build. You might have some driver problems though.

I'm just concerned about Windows not working with a new computer. I read something that said you can't reactivate a Windows 10 free license with a new computer...

Also I'd like your opinion on the G.Skill KM780 RGB keyboard... Seems impossible to find an RGB mechanical gaming keyboard for a reasonable price that doesn't have a lot of bad reviews...

The ML 140 goes to the top as exhaust. If you want, add another ML 120 white to the Mugen 5 for improved performance and lightning.
And no, u can't reuse windows 10. U have to do a fresh install. But I don't know wheather the same product key can be used.

i had that issue, if you buy a new motherboard your windows isn`t activated anymore.
i read on the microsoft website that you should be able to pair it with your microsoft account

(sorry if my english is bad i`m Dutch)

I knew I would need to re-install it, was just curious if I can still use it for free... I have it paired to my account and everything so I'm hoping it will work.
