I am considering the Printrbot simple metal http://www.amazon.com/Printrbot-Simple-Printer-Filament-1-75mm/dp/B00IZYL7IW and a Prusa i3 http://shop.prusa3d.com/en/3d-printers/59-original-prusa-i3-kit-with-lcd.html?gclid=Cj0KEQiA0Na1BRDlkqOcyczng5cBEiQAnEDa2DRDHviSZELxF1AvZlbT_eigxAsd2MS2-xtYhn4IvgEaAite8P8HAQ (I decided on this one because other makers are kind of sketchy and i'm not too into building and soldering.)
The simple metal is about 540 usd and an assembled one is 600, same as the prusa i3. The prusa has a larger build volume and a lcd display but it is more expensive. It also has a heated print bed for abs (and a lot more filaments) and multicolor printing support. The simple metal is easier to use and has a leveling probe (it is also easier to build.) I also want to know how good the customer service is for each. What I am concerned with is which one is more reliable and makes decent prints. I don't want a 600 dollar paperweight. Or do you have any other suggestions for 3d printers below 600?
Thanks

Update:
I got a Prusa i3 kit off Ebay for 250 dollars, (bit short on cash). Took a long time building and calibrating but I am pretty pleased with the results. It is pretty accurate and fast, and I think I can edit some settings in Cura to get better prints.
Tony Hoffman at PC Magazine just did review of some 3D printers.

All but one are above your budget. You may need to reconsider your requirements as there are lots of possible pitfalls.

Dremel also has 3D printer on the market via Home Depot I think. Also saw a 3D printer at Barnes & Noble Book store. XYZ brand, I thnk...

Best to be able to go see the printer hands on.
