So i currently have a Borg-Q FX Quad-Core Win 8.1

I am wanting to do a major upgrade after owning my current PC for about 3 years, my thoughts were to install a ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB ROG STRIX OC Edition along with an AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz Processor and a EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G1, 80+ GOLD 750W to boost my power supply.

My question is whether this is worth the money or if i should save up for a whole new rig? I hear that Intel is better than AMD, but i don't know why. I also know that my motherboard isn't the best. Let me know if you think my upgrade would work, or if i would just be wasting money on the AMD processor instead of switching my whole setup.

Solution
An FX 8350 will bottleneck a GTX 1060, let alone a GTX 1070. The FX 8350 is roughly equivalent to an i3 6100, the i3 still being better for gaming. For a GTX 1070, you want an i5.

For the new power supply, you can get one of these two. The XFX TS Gold is a very good quality power supply, and will easily get the job done, but if you want slightly better quality and more warranty then the Evga G2.

Solution

So would you recommend putting these parts into the PC i currently have? Keeping my memory and case?

Yes, if you want a 6th gen i5 6500 instead of the i5 4460(very little improvement) you would have to also replace your memory with DDR4 memory, so a 4th gen i5 is a good choice to save money since you can use your DDR3 memory. You could always replace the case if you dont like the look or something, but it is not required.
