I have the AMD FX-8320e 8-core processor with Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 motherboard. I was wondering would it be able to handle either the Nvidia Geforce Gtx 960 4gb or the Nvidia Geforce Gtx 970 4gb graphics cards. And was wondering if the 970 was worth the extra money?

Solution

get a gtx 1050 ti, it is better than a 960

the 970 is obsolete, so dont buy one unless its for suuuuuuper cheap

a gtx 1060 or rx 480 would be a better choice

Your current cpu would be fine with a decent overclock, not perfect but workable

your motherboard is pretty garbage however, no overclocking

so a stock 8320 is too weak too keep up with either a 1060 or 480

go with 970 i have 2gb gtx 960 my only issue is that vsync "on" every game (so yeah need a better monitor) or else get 80-100 fps and tear the hell out.. but id go with 970 just to feel... idk "with the cool guys" lmao

a gtx 1050 ti is going to be cheaper than $150 easy, and its better than a 960

a gtx 1060 or rx 480 is going to be cheaper than $230

dont get a gtx 970 at that price
