Hi all,

I recently upgraded my system to an i5 8600k / 1070ti / 16GB 3200 and want to purchase a decent monitor to compliment the setup. (Been using a basic 1080 24in 60hz Samsung for the last couple of years)

I'm purchasing the monitor from Singapore and have found quite a few 144hz options. Would really appreciate your opinions on the lot before I make the purpose.

From the reading I have done, it seems that the Viewsonic XG2701/2 is the primarily recommended one. The design is slightly off-putting - hence me keeping my options open.

Is using a 27in @ 1080 completely terrible? My chair is fairly close to my monitor if that makes a difference.

Below is the final list I've compiled of monitors within my approximate budget (around 400 USD):

  • ■Viewsonic XG2701

    ■Viewsonic XG2402

    ■BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P

    ■Acer KG251QF

    ■Acer KG271 B

    ■Lenovo Legion Y25F

What would you guys go with? I primarily play PUBG, Rainbow 6, CS GO atm.

You have built a really nice system and should pair it with a good monitor. I don't know how much this is over your budget, but I think it is close. It is 1080p, 144hz, TN, with gsync. All of the monitors you listed have free sync which you wont be able to take advantage of having a Nvidia GPU.

If that is too much than you can look at this one which is very similar to the one above bud does not have gsync.

Thanks for your reply! The first monitor does look very appealing. I will check the retail prices and see if I can make it work for my budget.

You've used the same link accidentally for your second suggestion btw!

Haha, sorry about that. I'll try this again, here is the link:
