I am looking to upgrade my current set up of 8GB of RAM to 16GB. I went to amazon today, And I seen the RAM I have installed jump from the $80 I paid for it last year. To amount I feel is too hight, So I was hoping someone here, Could help me find some compatible RAM for my current system. Also if the RAM I have installed should just be upgrade too that is fine also. Since I can sell it used for the price I paid for new. If that is the case, I would like the 16GB to be in 4x4GB sticks. Thank you for your time.

The G.Skill memory referenced is not on the list of compatible memory for the Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 motherboard as per search results at G.Skill here.

But the memory may still be compatible, as it is likely that not all combinations of memory have (yet) been tested.

The memory could be tried and see if it works, but it may require adjustment of timings and/or voltage. However, there is no guarantee the memory will work.

Compatible 2 x 8 GB DIMM's found here.
What you have is basic 1600/9, best bet with your mobo would be to go with a 2x8GB set - 2 sticks is less stress on the MC (memory controller) than 4 sticks and the MCs on AMD CPUs aren't all that strong - with the Sabertooth I'd look at the GSkill Ripjaws X or their Sniper line in 1600/9

At this point, Is there a reason for 16GB of RAM for gaming? I only looked into more RAM due to the price jump of my old ram. Is it something I should be looking into?
