Many Amazing Games Came out for Windows XP, and I am making a youtube video about the most nostalgic and amazing games for the XP era, and I'm looking specifically for games with an Amazing and moving adventure with massive replay ability, games with online multiplayer that never ever ever get old, anything with zombies, space exploration and alien First person Shooters, basically the games that helped shaped the way we play today, there were so many amazing games that people still play today that came out and work on windows XP. I will start us out with one of my Favorites of All time,

Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. They were Iconic, immersive, and literally drew you into the world of Resident Evil and you truly feel like you are fighting for your life.

The only rule I'm really going for here is it MUST be 3D, no 2D or over the top I want full immersion.

I never played those types of games back in the XP era since I never heard about those back then. I mostly played on console back then but the games that I played were on XP as well: Star Wars Battlefront I and II. Both of these are a lot greater than the remake in 2015. Their maps were pretty big and had many players at the time and like the 2015 remake, you can switch between third person (default) to first person, though, I would recommend you stay in third person as you can see more around you.

Here's something I played a lot in the XP era but it doesn't fit your description: Maple Story.
I used to play this a lot back in the day (some time in 06 or so). It's an MMORPG that's still alive today.

Nice thanks for the responses guys, we are off to a good start! Before the thread is over I would like to have a SOLID 10 item list of games in the order I will showcase them in the video.

To clarify, I GUESS that a game doesn't nessecarily HAVE to have been released straight to windows XP, Like if the game came out for windows Vista but also included Windows XP support then technically I will allow it, as the audience I am trying to reach is people who have built a windows XP retro gaming computer and are looking to see what some of the best experiences on that Platform would be like.

MechWarrior 3 looks amazing! I'm almost certain it will be making an appearance in my video. Basically i'm looking for the hidden gems, peoples favorite games that everyone forgets would work on windows XP too. By Doing this I am slightly making the case that Windows XP may not be as obsolete as people think it is, if it can completely satisfy the needs of the person using it then its perfect regardless of how others judge the OS.

Alright guys What other Games do you guys suggest? I'll throw another of my favorites out there for discussion,

GTA San Andreas. The Multiplayer Mod is still going today as one of the most popular multiplayer mods of all time, and this would give you hundreds of hours of fun gameplay on that "new" windows XP retro gaming build you just finished.

I've already suggested it but Star Wars Battlefront I (2004) and II (2005)! :O

I couldn't recommend anything else as I was really young at the time of XP's release (2001), was 4 at the time, turned 5 the following year but the following games were made during the XP era.

So far this is the best answer, but I own almost every game on this list except for the Splinter Cell series, and that may be worth looking into. Can you Suggest some more? If we can get a decent list together I'll type it all up in one post so its searchable from here on out for anyone else looking for Windows XP games. Basically I'm looking for the games that were very well reviewed, and hopefully came out on both consoles and pc, because then I can pit my cheap windows XP computer against the console of the time and see which ones win in which games.
