Hey so I'm thinking of upgrading my current pc.
My current specs are:

Moherboard: Intel Dg31pr
Graphic Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 1GB DDR5

PSU: Corsair VX 450W
Hard Disks: WD 320GB @7200 rpm
WD Caviar Green 1TB @5400 rpm

Now The UPGRADED specs:

Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6GB/S USB 3.0 ATX AMD MOTHERBOARD WITH UEFI BIOS OR ASROCK 990FX EXTREME4 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6GB/S USB 3.0 ATX AMD MOTHERBOARD
Graphic Card :Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 1GB DDR5 (will upgrade to a hd 7770 2GB DDR 5 later)

WD Caviar Green 1TB @5400 rpm

I will mainly be using this new pc for gaming and editing music and other stuff.I'm on a really tight budget.I can't afford a intel cpu otherwise I would've gone for it. My current specs(core 2 duo) can run all latest games like cod blackops 2,bioshock infintie, tomb raider etc,on a medium settings but its way too slow and i cant multitask much.

So I have a few doubts.I would really appreciate your inputs.
1. What is the main difference between the asus m5a97 and the asrock 990fx extreme 4.I know about the 990 fx. But does it really make a difference?Over here the asus m5a97 is 50$ cheaper than the asrock.I may overclock in the future. But for now i will be running stock speeds.
2.Will my Corsair VX450W be sufficient?I will be upgrading my graphics card to a radeon hd 7770 2GB DDR5 later this year.
3.Is the fx 6300 good enough for gaming and mutiltasking?I've read a lot of reviews but a little more insight would help.

990FX boards offer proper SLI/crossfire feature and usually more OC features. If you're from the US then consider getting Asrock 990FX Extreme3 instead of the 2 candidates above, since Newegg is giving away a 8gb ddr3 bar with the purchase of this board : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157281

2. It would be sufficient to put n even a hd7850.

3. Yes, fx 6300 is a good CPU that balance both multitasking and gaming needs for a nice price. Much better multitasking performance than an i3 yet gaming performance ( in your setup ) equals or better than i3 CPUs.

Ill just tell you about my experiences :)

I built a new gaming rig with FX 6300 and gtx 660ti 2gb GPU but I was reading so much about ASrock and how many bad reviews there were going around I got put off and decided to go with a Gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3 and found it really nice and easy to use :) runs like a dream!

I would buy a Corsair 500w or 550w mainly because you don't want to have to completely replace it later on and if you overkill a little bit it wont make a difference especially with your GPU upgrade later. I know its hard on a tight budget but by spending a little bit more you wont have to change as much later on when you upgrade.

Yes the FX6300 is good for gaming, Ive been playing games and multitasking and Ive had no problems whatsoever. Ive been monitoring the heat and my case has two front fans built in and I haven't felt any extreme temperatures although I need to get a program to test them more in depth.

The Mobo issue - by spending less, you will spend less on quality of components and the overall motherboard. That's all you have to consider unless the actual mobos come with differences which I didn't find.

Hope this helps :)

Happy building!

Thanks a lot bro, i might go with the gigabyte ga990fxaud3. Should i consider the fx8320 also? I also saw that offer.,unfortunately i dont live in the us 🙁

Hey thanks bro. I almost forgot about the gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3,Thanks for reminding me.Even i read some bad reviews about the asrock,I'll probably go with the giabyte. Just one more thing will i have to upgrade the bios for the fx6300 to detect or will it work out of the box?

LOL,I check all my prices on flipkart only,I'll buy the graphic card later. My 6670 is working fine now.I just got it replaced back in february, had a 5670 before, fan crapped out 🙁. Anyways i buy all my stuff from lamington road only, its a bit cheaper.
Appreciate the help :)

Nah you'll be fine :) I was worried about this issue but one thing someone said to me, "if it aint broke, dont fix it"...and my computers running fine :) so I guess not haha but if you check the website and see if any major bios updates have occurred then go for it, but I havent as yet.
