Hello All, I recently got an old Windows 2000 computer equipped with an ASUS CUSL2-C Black Pearl mainboard that's running slower than desired.

I want to overclock the CPU but I want to know its limit before I burn it up, but I don't know the model of it is.

The only information I have to go off of is "x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 10 GenuineIntel ~501 Mhz"

I tried looking it up which resulted in a Core 2 Duo? It's obviously not. Also can't find it in device manager or BIOS so I'm outta luck. Any ideas on what it could be?

What is "desired"? Quantify.
Half decent I would say, something that doesn't stutter while trying to open an application.

Full system hardware specs?
MB: ASUS CUSL2-C Black Pearl
CPU: Unknown Intel
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX 440
PSU: AOpen 350-400 watt
OS: Windows 2000 Ver 5.00.2195 Service Pack 3
D-Link Ethernet Card
Creative SB Live! Sound Card
VIA USB 2.0 Extension Card
U.S Robotics 56K Modem
3 CD Drives - HP CD Writer Plus / 40x12x48x CDRW / 52x24x52 CDRW
Mitsumi 1.44Mb Floppy Drive
458KB Triple Channel Mixed SDRAM

SIDE NOTE:
I did overclock it to 1110Mhz which is performing a lot better now, but it still stutters a little. Doesn't seem like it's straining the CPU too badly yet.
