600VA is enough, but the 480W will provide more backup time. Since they all are inexpensive UPS, buying one that exceeds your requirements is cheap insurance. That pretty well sums up my question, thanks to all of you guys for the effort and I've decided to go with Champion Home & Office 800 VA UPS
