need help on buying xbox controller for pc

i have a old xbox 360 controller and i want to use it on my pc but i have to buy a receiver and it will cost me about 25$ in my country and a new xbox one controller cost about 45$ so what do you guys think should i buy the xbox 360 receiver or the xbox one controller

how old is the 360 controller?
if it is very old i would just get the one controller, however if it is fairly new maybe just stick with the reciever

Keep in mind that if you buy the xbone controller you need to get one with the play and charge cable. It will not work with the wireless (unless you get the xbone wireless dongle too). Drivers are a little tricky but if you google it they can be found without much issue.
