I want to play games such as bf4, arma 3, dayz and generally most games on preferably ultra settings. I am looking to upgrade my current pc and I have two builds in mind, I just need help with choosing one.
Current pc specs:
CPU - AMD A10 5800K Black Edition
GPU - Radeon HD 6870
MB - ASUS F2A55-M LE
PSU - 500W
RAM - 2x4GB Gskill ripjaws 1600MHz
Storage - 500GB WD HDD
OS - Windows 7 64 Bit

New parts that will be the upgrade:

AMD FX 8350
R9 270x
Asus M5A97 R2.0

OR

I5 4440
R9 270x
Asus H97M-PLUS

And possibly a 120gb ssd

My only questions are; will I get much of a performance boost from the 280x over the 270x because I can't decide between them and will my 500W PSU handle it? (its a mod x stream pro)

Any info is appreciated, thanks.

Hello

Both of builds are good, but don't miss that the M5A97 R2.0 is an ATX board, your case must be ATX if you wan't to put this mobo inside

Build AMD/280X/no-OC : 450W
Build Intel/280X : 370W

I suggest you to change the PSU by an XFX TS 550, OCZ didn't maked greats PSUs

Thanks for the reply,
I don't really have any extra money to spend on a new PSU and also my case is a CiT Vantage. Could you possibly advise on which of the builds is better?

I would say Intel, to not overload your bad PSU, that you should change in a minimum of time if you can
The case is a mid tower case, but no info about GPU lenght comptability :??:
Check it please 😉 before buying a very long Sapphire R9 280X (320mm)

Thanks. And btw how is it a bad PSU? It's been fully functional for over a year and a half now and other people seem to be pleased with it as well so what is the issue with it? And I checked some answered questions on amazon and it seems that someone already has an atx in there and someone else has a 280x so it shouldn't be a problem :)
