Need help on how to get ethernet into my room. (I have phone jack)

So I am moving my PC into my room. I was originally beside the family PC in the living room, where our modem is (connected to phone jack). If I want ethernet in my room, do I use a router plugged into the phone jack in my room, or is it more complicated than that?

Some options: wireless router connected to modem and wi-fi adapter to pc.
or
modem moved to your room
or
cable from modem to pc in your room.
