[SOLVED] Need help on upgrading GPU

Hello , new PC gamer here. Not too smart on building and upgrading. Bought a pre-built PC from ibuypower and realized certain graphic intense games are very choppy. Wanted to upgrade my graphics card but couldnt find any information on whats most compatible with my motherboard and better for my system. And also would i need to upgrade anything else along with the graphics card so it will handle better? Such as upgrading my CPU or adding more ram? Was also trying to stay within a budget of $400-450. I have had someone tell me that a RTX2060Super or a RTX2070 would be a good upgrade for me. What do you think? Thank you for the feedback.

So theres actually a few things that can be contributing to poor performance. I wouldn't spend all 450 on the GPU alone especially if you are gaming only at 1080P.

For a GPU I would say a GTX 1660 Super. It should provide you easily with stable 60-100fps on high settigns for most games at 1080P

Next things I would upgrade would be your CPU, the 1200 is a very limiting CPU, get a Ryzen 3600 if you want the best all around CPU or if you want to save alittle you can pick up Ryzen 2600's pretty cheap these days. If you go with the Ryzen 3600 be sure to update your motherboard BIOS while you have your 1200 still installed. There are plenty of videos and how to available on how to update BIOS's.

Memory: Having single channel (meaning 1 stick) is very limiting for Ryzen. I would suggest buying a Dual Channel kit (two sticks sold together) of 2x8GB (for a total of 16GB) of 3200mhz or faster RAM.

I'd agree with @richiestang_78, but I don't think the GTX 1660 Super is enough of a performance boost over your current GTX 1650 to justify the $240 cost. I'd recommend the CPU and RAM upgrades and then see how your system is performing and if you're still having issues, then consider the GPU upgrade.

A 1660 Super over a non Super 1650 is about a 30 or 40 % increase which I think is a substantial upgrade.

Upgrades You must consider before upgrading:
1: Better CPU (FOR EXAMPLE : RYZEN 3600 OR 2600)
2: more ram; 2X8 16GB RAM
3:to justify the upgrade price you putting i would recommend going with an rtx 2060 or 2060 super
based on my experience never pair an rtx 2060 or any good card with an old slow cpu . it will seriously limit the performance . and also the 8gb ram . i would recommend at least 16gb to have good gaming experience
