Need help overclocking i7 3770 (non-k)

Hi all,

I recently install my new MB. ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 with my i7 3770 CPU. I'm cooling with Hyper 212.

I currently have my CPU @ 3.9GHz, by manually setting the multiplier at 39.

I am wondering how far I can push a non-k version. Is there anything I need to be aware of?

I did. I set bclk = 100 and multiplier = 39.

This is fast enough for now, and my idle temps are CORE 1 = 31c, CORE 2 = 22c, CORE 3 26c, CORE 4 = 20c.

I do OC my 7970 to 1200mhz/1600mhz. I am just unhappy w/ the performance in some games like Tomb Raider and Skyrim (ENB).

Tombraider = Ultra, but SMAA = 2x, instead of 4x. I get around 35-40fps. If I turn SMAA to normal instead of ultra I average 45.

Skyrim with ENB = hitting like 40fps when Ambient Occlusion is turned on.

Something about your FPS in those games don't sound right. My 7950 handles both those games with exact or incredibly similar settings much better. It should not be the CPU, but I suppose its a possibility?

I don't think it's the CPU... Gpu should be faster? I oc it to 1200/1600. I can run a benchmark using 3d mark or something.

Try running a uningine valley benchmark with the extreme HD (highest) presetting and report the score

I ran the 3dMark11 again, but this time with 1200/1600 @ 1.3v and +10 board power (TRIXX)...
PSCORE was only 8350.
