Hello!
Thanks for helping me out!

I have decided that I will pick a Asus board something like this.
As I like the look of them, have good reviews and are a good price for my build.

http://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/Z97K/

I have also decided to get the MSI GTX 970 because it is one of the most future proof cards you can get I figured it was a good choice.

This card support Direct X 12 and does the board also need to support it? Because on the board it says "Supports Direct X 11" So will I not be able to use Direct X 12?

Also if there is any other board you guys recommend I would love to hear.

Thanks for helping me out and please ask any questions you might have!

Hi :)
Yes, that board supports DX12, doesn't really have anything to do with the mobo. I have no trouble recommending Asus boards, that one is a solid choice. Gigabyte and MSI also make good boards that are arguably better value in the same price range, but you can't really go wrong with ASUS.
Enjoy 😀 if you have any more questions just let us know.

I very fond of the Asus board and is a very good price. My budget is about £500. But I will go for a diffrent coard like to MSI gaming 3 if I get more for my money. If you guys have any other recommendations I would really love to hear.

The MSI is another good option but I would like to know if there are more choices.

Sorry if I sound a but pickey but thanks for supporting my problem!

My two cents here:

SLI can be a great deal maker or beaker. If you got a big enough PSU and capable MoBo lying around, spending $350 more on second card in future for extreme 1080p or 1440p performance looks tempting. But if you plan to SLI after getting a new PSU and MoBo (in future), then the very purpose, which is usually increase in performance w/o spending fortune, is lost.

Decide if you want a SLI capable MoBo or not.

I don't think I will do SLI as the 970 is enough for me, I don't think I need 2. I think I will go for the Asus and it looks like a solid board, I am sure the MSI one looks good as-well, personally I just prefer the look and quality feel of the Asus. Regarding SLI, If I do get another card which is unlikely I don't mind getting a new board.

The one of my PC part picker is Z97 which doesn't give me any performance benefits so I am looking for a Z87 board for around £80

I will appreciate your opinions and suggestions!

Thanks for your support!
