NEED HELP PICKING NEW PROCESSOR FOR MY K330b

I am currently looking for a new cpu to run games more smoothly. Right now i have an intel pentium inside and i was wondering if the intel core i5 2500k 3.3ghz would be compatible. If not, then what would be the best cpu i could get for around $100 refurbished that would be compatible with the mobo i have now. (i have a k330B)

But the thing that bothers me and that will probably work better than upgrading CPU is Buy a Video card. Since you have integrated. i would recommend you look for USED Vidoe card and USED CPU to fit your budget.

Thank you very much for your reply. So if i dont get a video card as well then does that mean that any cpu i try and upgrade to wont work with my mobo?
And also my bios cannot be updated will that be a problem?

It will work but most performance loss is due you do not have dedicated video card. Almost any Video card is better than no video card. so my opinion is better to keep this cpu and add video card or if you can save for a bit buy video card and used i3 or i5 cpu. Also you do not need "K" processor because you will not overclock it on this motherboard and if you are buying used K processor there is a risk that previous owner did overclock it badly and ruin it.

Is there any chance u could also tell me y this intel core i5 3475s cpu isnt working for me?
I installed it and my tower comes on but no display on screen. I replaced the psu with an evga 450 watt psu thinking my old 280 watt one just wasnt enough but still has the same problem. I took it back out and put the old pentium back inside and i was gonna return it and go for the i5 2500. Thanks again for your help, it's very much appreciated.

Also this i5 3475s is compatible with your motherboard. May be it was faulty CPU. i do not see other issue why this could not work.
And yes i5 2500 should fit perfectly in this old build.

Thanks this helps me a lot. And i will let u know how it goes.
Also forgot to mention that the i5 3475s is an ivy bridge and what i have now is a sandy bridge. Not sure what the diferences are but i was told by someone that this could also be y the i5 3475s is not working in my computer. Thanks for putting up with my questions. XP

i5 2500 Socket: 1155
Intel Pentium Dual-Core G620 Socket:1155

All the same socket and should work all in same motherboard.
