I am attempting to port forward on my new NetGear AC1750 C6300 and I cannot seem to get it running. Previously I had attempted on my Arris router but was told Arris does not support port forwarding basically at all, so I bought a NetGear in the hopes I could get it working.

I had set my Internal IP to static and used that to port forward to, but no dice, any help?

Solution
I forgot to mention one other issue. If your PC has a firewall, then you need to add a port exception to the firewall. This is applicable to Windows Firewall and other third-party software. If the firewall is blocking the port, then the port will appear closed.

The NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 and TP-Link Archer CR1900 are good alternatives.
I have 12 days left to return it to Walmart, if someone could suggest a new modem/router combo or a modem and router that works, that’ll be great. It needs DOCIS 3.0, and at least 16
Channels, plus my internet is 105mb/s, furthermore having one that is rated to be upgraded would be nice, I can pay up to 400 bucks, so if there is a way nicer one, I’m fine with that.

The only thing you need to verify is if they are supported by your ISP. I believe they are because they are similar to your current device. To answer your question, they both have functional port forwarding and higher speeds than your current modem/router.
