Hi all,
Looking at putting together a new build as my current setup is really starting to show it's age.
Approximate Purchase Date: In the next week or two to gather parts and build
Budget Range: $800-1500 (Would prefer to stay on the lower side so my wife doesn't stab me in the face but would also like to future proof as much as possible. My low of $800 would be minus an SSD and using my current drives iinstead.
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming and Video Editing
Parts Not Required: Logitech Keyboard, Logitech G700 Mouse, Antec 900 Case, Corsair 750TX PSU, Westinghouse L2410NM, 2x 500GB WD Hd's
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, Amazon, anything else reputable and priced well
Country: USA
Parts Preferences: Avid Media Composer systems require Intel Processors and Nvidia GPU's so those are a neccesity. Outside of that, I'm open.
Overclocking: Slight and mild - GPU & Mem more so than CPU
SLI or Crossfire: Possible but would prefer single GPU with the option to add
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080, 1920x1200 (IPS prefered)
Additional Comments: This is going to be my home system that I am going to use for video editing and gaming mostly. I am a professional editor but don't necessarily need a full professional editing suite for my house as I work on systems provided to me for my jobs. I would however like to be able to edit HD codecs from this system and do plan on using two 24" monitors and a 40" HDTV as my reference monitor. Was looking at the i5's cost wise as they seem to be fine for gaming but wondering if the i7's would be best for hyper threading capabilities.
For gaming I'm looking to only play on one 1920x1200 monitor at the moment but may upgrade to 2560x1440 in the distant future and will sometimes be using my HDTV.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
