NEED HELP REGARDING 144hz monitor setup

i bought lg24gm77 was using it with d-sub connection but now i want to connt dvi-d. i connected cables but after setting it to dvi-d it only shows desktop with no icons and nothing works( mouse, keyboard)

do you still have the dsub connected? sounds like it's a registering as a 2nd monitor. turn off your pc, only connect the dvd-d and then turn it on.

This is just an idea, but the "showing desktop with no icons" sounds a lot like what my tv does when I set it as my secondary monitor. I can use my normal monitor and then when I move the mouse off to the right side of the screen it goes over to the tv screen. This might be whats happening if you have another monitor connected. If its just one monitor then make sure when you switch cords you unplug the first cord and then plug in the new cord. Hope that helps.

i removed d subrestarted pc and now the desktop shows up with icons, but when i go in intel graphic settings it shows 59p and 60p only no 144 . i have g4400 processor with intel hd 510

I don't think Intel HD can do 144hz.
