[SOLVED] need help regarding display port cables

Hey, so basically I was told that I need to buy a 1.2 version of a display port cable for a 144 hz monitor I'm buying. There's a lot of expensive cables in my country and there's cables that are not very expensive, (talking about display port cables).

My question is, will any display port cable be able to run a 1080p monitor at 144hz, have freesync working, or do I need to look for a specific type of a display port cable to be able to do that?
