Need help selecting PSU for crossfire!

Currently going to crossfire two Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 Ghz Edition Vapor-x together. I need a new power supply and have an extremely limited budget for one. The amd website says that if I want two crossfire these two cards I'll need a 600w power supply. I have picked out the Corsair Builder Series cx600 hoping this will be able to power these two cards. I have two questions, the label says at 80% it will be running 480w on a 12v rail. Will that be enough to power these two cards? If it won't will I be able to slip by on a Kentek 750w power supply? Yes I know it's crappy, but I have a tight budget and just need a good power supply to run these two cards.

The CX600 is plenty for that setup, assuming you're not trying to overclock a 3960X as well.

Right out side my budget. I only have max of like $60 to spend on a psu.

Don't know it, can't hurt to try....mentioned the Apevia as I've run into a few of them on repair and upgrade rigs brought to me and haven't heard of any problems.....The Egg has about 150 reviews on it, and while not trustworthy, it's a 4 out of 5 overall...would think if really bad would be much lower, generally more folks write to complain about PSUs than do those who write to praise.......and I'm not that big of a fan of the Tier ratings, many are very old and don't reflect today's products

dont waste your time with crossfire, you will end up with more FPS, but by the time the frames hit your monitor they are unevenly spaced, dropped frames, runt frames etc, giving choppy gameplay (aka microstutter). I used to have 2 x 6850's in crossfire, which perform similarly to your 7770, a month after buying the second card i sold them both due to stuttering.

They'll be fixing the microstuttering problem today. I presume that it will probably be delay if it's not released today which will give my parts time to come in.

They'll be fixing the micro-stuttering problem today. I presume that it will probably be delay if it's not released today which will give my parts time to come in.

They also claimed to fix micro-stuttering with the radeon 6xxx series........ I have my doubts about this fix. It's a software fix, so if it does work, its probably going to use more CPU power to monitor the frame time output, and possibly introduce more input lag. It will be interesting to see how AMD achieves this, if they achieve it. They really needed to do this sooner, i ended up going nvidia this time because of this crossfire problem, they lost a lot of sales because of this.
