I bought an ssd and I have it installed in my and have it set to mbr. I want to move the whole OS to the ssd so I can boot off it and I also want to move my games and use my 1tb hard drive for everything else. I don`t have any disk copy software. Would it be easier to install windows to the ssd and then re download my games?

You can try some tool provided by the SSD manufacturer to do so. For example, I used "SSD Scope" to transfer OS from my HDD to the Transcend SSD. You can look for such tool provided by the manufacturer of your SSD.
Or you can use EaseUs Partition Manager to migrate OS to SSD. You may need to repair the startup after the migration process if your system doesn't boot the OS from SSD.
Also, you'll have to format the OS partition on your HDD, otherwise OS won't start.

I can go into details if you need further help.

And this is why we investigate, before automatically recommending cloning from one to the other.

So, you currently have 250GB used space, and a 120GB drive. Obviously, that won't work.

3 options:
1. Clean install on the new SSD. OS and applications
2. Reduce your used space to below 100GB, and clone from one to the other
3. Buy a much larger SSD
