You need to provide more specifics. What network hardware do you have? What ISP speed do you have? How much area are you trying to cover with WIFI? How many wireless devices? How many wired devices? Do you have ethernet cabling in your home? Is it a house, apartment, a boat or some other unusual "home" ? Even provide a drawing of the floorplan.

i only need help setting the routers up (its 1 modem and 1 router) in the settings

But you still didn't provide any more info? WHAT model router? WHAT model modem? WHAT speed ISP service? WHAT type service (fiber, DSL, coax)?

The router is a tp-link WR840N and the modem is a huawei HG531s V1 my internet speed is 4Mbps the type of service is DSL and i need help in configuring them

You plug your modem into the phone outlet, then the router WAN port to the modem. Then follow the quick setup guide.
