G'day all, recently I have moved into the bungalow of my parents house (approx 40m away) and want to install wireless internet for several of my devices (iPhone/ps3/smart tv ect) but also need Ethernet as my desktop isn't wireless.
In the parents house they are currently running a netgear DG834GU v5 (54 Mbps Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router)
I need a strong and fast signal as I game online, torrent, HD stream ect a lot
So on with my question what is the best way to get a good wireless set up in the bungalow? Also any product suggestions will be much appreciated
I have tried researching on the topic but can't wrap my head around it in my situation. My current understanding is that I have to run an ethernet cable to the bungalow where I purchase another wireless router to act as an 'access point' or 'bridge' or something? I have also read that dual band (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz) can increase file transfer speeds and HD streaming so should I look at a dual band router?
Hope this is enough information. If more is needed let me know. Many thanks in advance!
