Hello everyone! I recently switched to a PC from console and I'm more than happy with the experience. Thing is, the guy who configured my PC seems to be a dumbass and didn't do anything about the cooling. (GPU temps are as high as 97 Celsius, yes.)

So, these are my detailed specs:

Intel Core i7 - 4790 at 3.60 GHz

8GB DDR3 RAM

500GB HDD

NVIDIA GTX 560 (Zotac)

600W Power Supply (Unbranded)

NEED serious help, guys. Would appreciate it.

Besides what shadows said, which I agree with, the guy who assembled it might be a dum-dum, but the guy who sold it to you is the typical clever shop-owner.
I'm actually suspecting he didn't even assemble it...

Nobody with a small, minimal modicum of experience would pair up an i7 4790 with a GTX 560 and an unbranded PSU, especially now that DX12 is around the corner...
That is, unless he wants to make money off your potential ignorance on the matter (being a customer, you're unfortunately supposed to be ignorant).
Those specs also look way too close to a common, off-the-shelves tech shop computer; big numbers, terrible gaming performance.

Guys, thank you so much for the help. My PC JUST shut down while gaming. (Watch Dogs, yes I know it's old.)

I called him to know what's wrong, he said it's OKAY to game at 100 degrees. WHAT EVEN. I don't know what to do. I spend around a 1000 dollars on my PC.

PLEASE, please help me out. I'm in a fix. Thank you guys once again.

We already told you, or actually, shadows did and I confirmed. You or someone else likely need to replace the thermal paste on your GPU.

Gaming at 100 degrees is extremely wrong, either Fahrenheit (too cold but still possible, and kudos if you manage to actually do that) or Celsius (WAY too hot, unless you own a stock cooler 290/290x).

Got the refund for my GPU and my PSU. Can you guys recommend me a good case and PSU now? (along with liquid cooling, that's okay)

Final specs:

Intel Core i7 - 4790 at 3.60 GHz

8GB DDR3 RAM

500GB HDD

ASUS H97ME Motherboard

Thanks again!

Also as per your suggestion shadows1234, even if I do go for the XFX cooler, I guess the 650W will be better, also where do I get the extra fans? My friends say that along with their cooler they've installed 3-4 extra fans, 2 front 2 rear.
