Need help to fix a DVD R+DL that stopped

i was trying to burn a iso file to a DVD R+DL.something went wrong,i got a error and the disc kept spinning in the drive and i was unable to take it out. when i got the disc out and i put it back in after restarting the pc the disc doesnt get detected.it keeps on loading.is there a way to fix it?please help?

Once it starts writing and it doesn't succeed it's ruined and can't write on it any more. R/W (re-writable) disks can be reformatted, ordinary can't.
