Need help with a self-build computer I want to make !

Hello Tom's Hardware users.
I'm currently saving up for a gaming computer I want to build.
These are the current specs that I want to buy;

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 760K Black Edition Boxed

Motherboard: ASRock FM2A75M-DGS

Graphics Card: MSI GeForce GTX 770 Twin Frozr Gaming 2GB OC

Hard Drive: Samsung SpinPoint M8 HN-M500MBB, 500GB

Monitor: Acer G226HQLBD Black

RAM: G.Skill RipjawsX F3-14900CL10S-8GBXL ( 2x4GB )

Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224BB Black

Power Supply: Corsair CX750M ( 750W )

The total price should be € 704,35 ( Euro's )


Is there anything that could have been better or something that need's to be changed ?
If so please tell me because this will be my first gaming computer.

Your cpu will bottle neck that gpu. Get a fx6300

Also that mobo is fm2 not am3/3+ to even support that cpu. You want an am3+ board preferably 990fx or 970 minimum


Actually i think that cpu is am2+ that you chose. Its pretty outdated


Besides that your gpu and cpu are good. I would suggest a cpu heatsink as well like the hyper 212 which is cheap. The stock coolers arent very good

does a FX6300/am3+ motherboard push you overbudget? it's a better match for the gtx770

actually that's an A class APU with the display removed and it's FM2. it's correct.

i was just as surprised when i first heard about them. it's a fx4300 series basically since the apu uses the same piledriver modules. but without the l3 cache and on fm2 instead.

still a fx6300 and am3+ board is a better choice.

The asus 990fx series boards are really nice if they fit in your budget.

Any boards that says 990fx/fxa is a 990 board. The 970s will will sometimes work but your better off with the 990s

I see I will choose the Asus Sabertooth 990FX.
And any good cases for around the 100-130 Euro's that can hold about a fair amount of fans and isolates noise good, are you guys familiar with that?
If not I will ask around further. Already been helpful enough
