So I have built my own computer a couple years ago and upgraded the GPU recently.
However I think I need a new/better CPU and more ram to play some of the better games, such as Vampyr and the shadow of the tomb raider thats coming out..

Also have a question.. I've replaced components before, but never a CPU.. how hard/easy/difficult/annoying is it to replace CPU? I dont wanna break anything.

I need advice though.. its been a long time.. Theres are my computer specs currently :

MOBO - ASrock Z75 Pro3
CPU - intel core i53350p
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
Ram - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB)
PSU - Rosewill Green Series 530W
I actually own vampyr, and it runs nice but if i low spin the camera, it feels jerky, if that makes sense.

Thanks.. anything would help. I think I mostly just need a better CPU and more ram. I have 4 ram slots on my mobo, but i dont know if i can mix and match? bleh.
Price range, well, the less money the better, but i have savings. Bout $500

Solution

thats cool lmk how it goes

sorry didnt see the bottom. so i suggest u get a better cpu and more ram supposibly the i5 8400 knowing the budget is around 500 u can use the i5 for good gaming maybe a i7 if u want to spend some more. also i would suggest getting more ram and if u want a new motherboard everything u have is good besides the cpu also the motherboard is alright but its a little small for my tasting lacking features but thats my opinion!

whats the biggest difference between the i5 and i7 version? Sorry I'm still trying to study computer components, certain things confuse me a bit still.

And yeah my mobo is pretty small XD I am not a fan, plan on building a whole new computer by the end of the year re-using my GPU ram and maybe cpu when i replace it..
Just wanna play modern games better

with the i5 it has less cores then the i7 their isnt really a big difference like a i5 8600k is better then a i7 4700k but the i7 8700k is better than the i5 8600k it matter by the cores and what speed they are at so the i5 8600k is at a faster single core speed then the i7 4700k

so really it depends on to u with budget would u like to go with a i7? possibly the i7 8700k variant or maybe u wanna change everything to ddr4 and maybe try ryzen i personally have the ryzen 7 2700x with the 1070 it competes with the i7 8700k and the threadripper ryzen has more cores whilst intel has faster

thats a good cpu choice same for the ram but the thing is the cpu is a 8600K with the K that means u can overclock but ur motherboard cannot overclock so u would probably have to go with the 8600

just did a double check the motherboard wont work with the 8600 so ur probably gonna have to buy a new board lemme look around 4 u
