Need help with compatibility

Hi, I currently have the i5-6500 and my motherboard is the asus h110m-c. I want to upgrade my processor to the i7-7700k. Is this compatible with my motherboard?

it will work with bios 3016 but you will need much more cooling than the cooler that came with the i5-6500.
don't upgrade to the 7700k on that main board the K chips are meant for OC your main board is not go with a non K chip like the i7-7700.

i have a different bios than what it needs, but should i update my bios rn? and if i update my bios rn, will it ruin the function of the cpu atm?

in bios page it will tell with version ou have and hwinfo main page will give it wil not but if you never made it and afraid of brick your motherboard se if a shop could do it and warranty the job for $$ .

You will pay more for a K chip that a non K so you will only get the non K performance on a K chip.
